Does Monsanto have any connection with the FDA?
In the U.S., agricultural biotechnology products are regulated by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), USDA (United States Department of Agriculture), and for insect-protected crops, the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). Each of our products has undergone many years of research, field trials and internal approvals before it is submitted for regulatory approval.
Monsanto provides all information required of us by these agencies in order to carry out their review, and we strictly comply with all regulatory requirements governing the safety of our products. You can learn more about the regulatory process here.
Our business relationships and action are governed by our company’s code of ethics, which we openly share with the public on our website here.
Monsanto also believes we have a legal, ethical and moral obligation to ensure our products and technologies are safe and environmentally responsible. We describe our commitment to product stewardship on our website here and provide links to product safety information.
