Monsanto Beautifies Ben Parker Elementary School
Ben Parker Elementary School in Kaneohe is enjoying a spruced up look, courtesy of Monsanto Hawaii volunteers who donated $2,500 and 217 hours of volunteer time to help with painting and landscaping projects at the school.
“We appreciate the volunteers from Monsanto Hawaii who have helped with clearing overgrown areas and the landscaping at our school,” said Kathy Kahikina, principal of Ben Parker Elementary School. “They have contributed to the beautification of our campus as well as the monetary donation from their community service hours which helps us offset costs for student uniforms."
In addition, Monsanto employees also worked on a special project to build a raised garden bed that creates sensory activities for their autistic students, allowing them to touch, see and smell fresh flowers, tomatoes and carrot produce.
