Monsanto employees and family members volunteer at IHS’ annual holiday party

Monsanto Hawaii has been a strong supporter of the Institute for Human Services, Inc. (IHS), a non-profit agency that works to prevent and end homelessness in Hawaii. Over the last several years, the company has supported the organization in various ways, from monetary and in-kind donations to volunteerism.

Most recently, Monsanto employees and family members volunteered at IHS' annual holiday party in Honolulu. In addition to decorating the dining room with a Christmas tree and holiday décor, the company provided desserts, and employees helped to serve lunch for the families serviced by IHS. Liz Purcell, wife of the company vice president, John Purcell, donated her time to take family portraits for free to help capture the holiday spirit.

"We were so touched by Monsanto employees' efforts to deck our halls for the holidays and bring cheer in tasty and meaningful ways,” said Connie Mitchell, executive director at IHS. “Family photos were such a big hit! Mahalo, Monsanto! You guys, rock!"

IHS offers the only 24-hour walk-in, emergency shelter in Oahu. For more information about the organization and its mission, visit
