Monsanto Hawaii Supports 2nd Annual Pet Walk & Summer Fair

Poi Dogs & Popoki (PDP), an animal welfare nonprofit, hosted its second annual West Oahu Pet Walk and Summer Fair. Dozens of furry four-legged participants and their families convened at Ewa District Park to enjoy games, activities and food booths.

John and DiddyIn addition to sponsoring the event, Monsanto Hawaii sponsored grass seed pouches for cats and dogs, which were available at one of the five Pup Tent comfort stations located along the one-mile course.

“We are proud to be able to support an event that helps to raise awareness about animal welfare issues,” said John Purcell, Hawaii Business and Technology Lead at Monsanto Hawaii and foster parent for homeless pets. “Proceeds from this event help to support PDP’s mission of providing nurturing, safe and healthier environments for cats and dogs living outdoors, which helps to mitigate Oahu’s feral population and benefits our communities.”

Event registrants received a free Pet Pouch with proceeds from the registration fee going towards animal welfare programs run by PDP, including The Big Fix mobile veterinary clinic which provides low-cost spay and neuter services on Oahu.
