Monsanto Named Best Place to Work in Information Technology
Computerworld has named Monsanto Company one of its Best Places to Work in IT. Monsanto ranks No. 24 on the 2015 list of the top 100 work environments for technology professionals, its fourth appearance on the list.
“I was very pleased to learn about this recognition because it underscores two things I know well about Monsanto: we’re a great company to work for, and we are strong believers in the power of technology to improve lives,” said John Purcell, Hawaii business and technology lead for Monsanto Hawaii.
“Not only do we apply the best of our knowledge and skills to developing new innovations that will benefit farmers and communities, we also utilize the latest technologies available out there to help us be better farmers ourselves – to conserve energy, reduce water usage, and promote precision agriculture through the use of state-of-the-art farm equipment,” he said.
Computerworld’s Best Places to Work in IT list is an annual ranking of the top 100 work environments for technology professionals. The list is compiled based on a comprehensive questionnaire about company benefits, career development, training and retention. In addition, Computerworld conducts extensive surveys of IT workers, and their responses factor heavily in determining the rankings.
Third-party organizations continue to recognize Monsanto as an employer of choice. In 2015, Monsanto has received multiple honors including “Top 50 Companies for Diversity” (DiversityInc); “100 Best Corporate Citizens” (Corporate Responsibility Magazine); “Work-Life Seal of Distinction” (WorldatWork’s Alliance for Work-Life Progress); and “Top Workplaces” (St. Louis Post-Dispatch).
