Monsanto’s Maui employees donate to Friends of the Children’s Justice Center of Maui
The Friends of the Children’s Justice Center of Maui hopes to brighten the holiday season for over 1,700 children county-wide who are abused, neglected and/or in foster care. Recently, Monsanto’s Maui employees contributed to this worthy cause by hosting a toy drive to benefit this non-profit organization.
In just one week, Monsanto’s employees collected over 100 donated toys with a value of over $1,500 for children of all ages including books, games, sporting equipment, dolls, trucks, tea sets, play jewelry, stuffed animals, musical instruments, and more.
This was Monsanto’s second toy drive for this organization; and was coordinated by members of Monsanto’s community outreach committee: Nema Rabino, Aurora Esmaquel, Ernesto Galinato and Vivian Miguel.
“A heartfelt mahalo to all our employees who donated and went above-and-beyond to support this very special cause,” said Carol Reimann, community affairs manager for Monsanto on Maui. “For over two decades, this important non-profit organization has been providing assistance to abused and neglected children in Maui County and promoting prevention of child abuse and neglect. Their work in our community is truly a gift of love and one that will keep on giving for years to come.”
“Our organization could not have made this toy drive a success without companies like Monsanto offering their support,” said Paul Tonnessen, executive director for the Friends of the Children’s Justice Center of Maui. “We are extremely grateful to Monsanto for reaching out to us this holiday season and touching the lives of our young people in Maui County. Their generous donation demonstrates the true meaning of giving.”
