The spirit of giving

At Monsanto Hawaii, the spirit of giving is a year-round tradition with employees giving back to their community through gift giving and volunteerism.
Employees capped off the year with their annual toy drive to benefit keiki in Hawaii. Dozens of employees collectively donated toys, dolls, action figures, games – and yes, a toy tractor or two.
On Maui, a toy drive benefited the Friends of the Children’s Justice Center, a nonprofit dedicated to helping protect children in Maui County who are traumatized by sexual assault, physical/emotional abuse or neglect.
And on Oahu, the toy drive supported the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots Program, which annually distributes toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community.
This past year, employees participated in various community service projects including food drives, blood drives, school campus landscape projects, wildlife habitat restoration projects, highway and community cleanups, and school supply drives.
Employees also helped serve meals to the hungry, supported social services agencies dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness in Hawaii, donated to programs that empower our youth, participated in improvement projects at the local human society, and even helped to build homes for our island’s local families.
A big mahalo to all our employees who continue to give so generously to help make our community a better place to live.
