Conversation with Kalani High School student Kaishu Tamura on Biotechnology

At Monsanto Hawaii, we don’t just grow corn. We try to grow great thinkers, too.

We’re proud to encourage future farmers, professionals, scientists and leaders through educational grants, scholarships, internships, farm tours and support for programs like Future Farmers of America (FFA).

As part of our support for education, we get to meet many talented youth. One of them, Kalani High School student Kaishu Tamura, received an award at last year’s annual Hawaii FFA Convention for his Prepared Public Speaking presentation about agricultural biotechnology. We were impressed by this young man’s intelligent and thoughtful perspectives on farming and technology which he shares in this interview.
